Founded by Patrick Bankhead and Richard Brearley in 2011, Southstudio are award-winning Architects and creative thinkers. We provide comprehensive architectural services from our bases in London and Tunbridge Wells.
We bring quality of service and strategic thinking to all our work and believe that every project offers unique potential to deliver architecture of quality and value.
We have a strong sense of the social and civic role that architecture plays, in shaping experiences and quality of life. We aim to create vibrant, sustainable environments that increase a sense of inclusion and facilitate well-being for all.
Our approach is to combine imagination, design and professional experience to understand and meet the needs of each individual client, user group and stakeholder. This information gathering is important to form a cohesive relationship and vision for the project.
We value and support input and comment from our client and all members of our team. This collective creative input combined with technical expertise at our disposal and attention to detail, leads to sustainable and innovative solutions.
The quality of architectural service is assured the Directors’ continued involvement in all stages of a project. An example of the benefits of this approach is our exceptional record of achieving 100% approval on planning permissions.
Southstudio provides a wide range of services from conception to completion in architecture, interior and urban design. We advise on site viability, options appraisals and undertake feasibility studies. We are experienced both in new build projects as well as retrofitting existing structures, including Listed Buildings, and works in Conservation Areas and World Heritage sites.
Regardless of size, complexity or timelines involved, we are fully committed to realising projects of quality, on time and on budget. This is achieved through analysis and consideration of suitable design strategies and technical solutions as appropriate, such as fast track delivery and innovation, whilst retaining quality and durability of construction.
